Review of the 2010 DeMarini the Creature Slow Pitch Softball Bat
Wow! What can I say that hasn’t already been said about the DXLR8. It’s solid yet lightweight. It has a balanced feel and plenty of flex. There’s great pop right out of the wrapper. The Rotation Index makes it effortless to break the bat in. I’ve had a lot of trouble with some of the other bats on the market but not one complaint about the Creature. In fact, it’s the type of bat that I would recommend to all of my friends.
All composite bats often feel bulky and unbalanced but this isn’t the case with the Creature. Right away, I felt comfortable holding the Positack Grip. I wrapped some extra Grip Tape around it and found that it works like a charm. I can’t believe I waited this long to buy a bat like this. If I would have started my career with it, I would have had a better overall average.
Sharp, rugged, and cost-effective, the 2010 DeMarini the Creature Slow Pitch Softball Bat is the only bat for me. The only downfall to it is that the company didn’t make it sooner! I would have been the first person in line to buy one!

I liked this bat from the get go. The balls just flew off this bat. It has a pretty big sweet spot and it has a very distinct sweet spot. Everyone on the team like this bat. But, that could be because it is one of the only new softball bats we have. Anyway, I really liked it a lot. I think the graphics are pretty cool.
I just got this bat. I only have one game into it with a total of 5 hits on it. Solid bat out of the wrap. Seems a little heavy as I got the 26 ounce and it feels more like a 28 ounce bat, it is balanced and swings smooth. Right now this bat is average as most composits are out of the wrap. I will update once I have some more hits one the bat.
