A lot of the 2010 slow pitch bats are a lot stiffer than years before. All the manufacturers are trying to beat the 1000 hit requirement for break in for composite bats. Mainly this is due to composite bats getting better over time. The ASA certification guidelines are pretty strict. And a lot of manufacturers are trying to figure out how to fall in line with the testing guidelines. I think the flame is great for what it is.

I am not sure what people were expecting. This is a stiff bat it was designed that way. There is a bit more vibration than with other bats. And it definitely takes a lot more to break this bat in.
