It is hot right out of the wrapper. But it does need some break in. It is not too stiff. It hits comfortably. I have swung bats where my hands actually hurt after bating. Not fun at all. But, not with this bat. The balls just fly off this bat and the pop is great. The graphics definitely leave a bit to be desired.
