Review of the Miken Chaos Maxload Slow Pitch Softball Bat
I am line driving like crazy with the Miken Chaos Maxload. I took this bat out of its package and immediately felt at ease using it. The first few balls I hit were hard and fast. After getting used to the weight of the bat, I found that I had a lot more control over my swing. The sweet spot is amazing but I have found that if you try to hit anything as high as the N in the MIKEN logo then you might run into some trouble. The ball simply doesn’t go anywhere. Aiming for the middle seemed to help me correct this problem.
It also takes awhile for this bat to break itself in. It’s kind of stiff the first couple of times that you play with it. It doesn’t have a Rotation Index like some of the bats on the market so it does take awhile for you to notice some results. I’ve been playing with mine for a few weeks now and it seems to be adjusting well.
The grip is relatively comfortable and there is a good level of flex which helps my swing. The Chaos Maxload is the third bat I have purchased since I started playing ball and I have to say that it is my favorite. It’s great to look at and really fun to use.

There was a bit of a break in period for this bat. A little getting used to. Has a pretty big sweet spot. But, from everything I had read i had expected a little more right out of the wrapper. Don’t get me wrong I am happy with the bat it is just that I had expected a little more.
I bought this bat two weeks ago and have bat in 6 games with it. Out of the wrapper it’s just to hit strong and fast line drives but if you are looking for the extra 20ft, this is not your bat. I switched to an Ultra II on my last chance at bat and the ball went over around 400ft. With this bat I couldn’t even get it close the 300ft fence. I’ll give it a little more time to break, if not I’m returning this POS.
